The developmental process was long but very rewarding. While working with the puppies and dogs, we noticed how patient and relaxed they were. Small children tugging on them, loud noises, other animals did not affect them. On top of all of those qualities, they are extremely loyal dogs.
Dawn has always been interested in helping people. She has done everything from fire fighting to Tae Kwon Do. She was also involved with P.A.W.S. saving animals from bad homes and placing them into loving homes.
About 8 years ago, she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. For those of you that are not familiar with this disease, Fibromyalgia is a common condition characterized by long-term, body-wide pain and tender points in joints, muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues. It is very painful on certain days depending on the weather, but most days she is okay.
Chase is 11 years old. He is home schooled, and he loves it. He also loves all of the animals on the farm. He has his critters including mice, bunnies, chickens, doves, and a kitten. He also likes riding the horses, but his favorite thing is to play with the puppies and dogs.
Chase has been a major part of the business. He cuddles and loves on the puppies. The puppies sleep in bed with him to get them used to sleeping with people. He helps with the house training and socializing them. Chase gets them used to kids and being played with. They also learn when playing gets to rough.
Then there is me, Jennifer. Dawn is my stepmom and Chase is my little brother. I help with the feeding, watering, grooming, answering e-mails, socializing the puppies, talking to the families, and anything else I need to do. We are a close family, and I try to help Dawn with whatever I can.
We also have a slew of friends that drop in all af the time. We recruit them if we need any help.
